Caring for your well-being remotely and in-person

The Counseling Center is offering both in-person (masks required) counseling and tele-counseling appointments using Microsoft Teams for students residing in Wisconsin. If you wish to schedule an appointment, please call our office at (715)-232-2468. All initial appointments will be completed using tele-counseling. If you live out of state and are seeking services, you may contact the office and schedule a telephone consultation for help in locating counseling resources near you.

If you are in need of a private space to attend a tele-counseling appointment, you can use one of the following options:

  1. If you live in the residence halls, ask about private rooms available in your basement
  2. The campus library has a variety of rooms that you can reserve for up to 2 hours a day

**Access to SilverCloud, the online self-help mental health resource, will be ending on Thursday, June 30, 2022. A new UW-System wide resource is intended to be available sometime this Fall 2022.

An online, self-guided, interactive resource that provides UW students, faculty, and staff with no-cost, confidential help for mental health issues and stress management 24 hours a day. SilverCloud is not designed to replace in-person mental health treatment for many complex concerns but may be an effective option for students with mild to moderate symptoms to:

  • Help manage day-to-day stresses and anxiety
  • Improve resilience
  • Learn skills to understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  • Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety

Studies have shown that online cognitive behavioral therapy can provide an effective form of care for those who are highly motivated and experiencing mild to moderate symptoms. SilverCloud is able to supplement traditional therapy or be used without seeing a counselor at all.

  • Tuesdays: 1:00pm-2:30pm
  • Wednesdays: 2:30pm-4:00pm

This is an in-person workshop that will focus on better understanding anxiety while building skills and tools for managing and reducing anxiety symptoms. All sessions will have different topics and students are welcome to attend just one or all three sessions. You do not need to pre-register and you do not need to be a client to attend.
