Cadaver Lab Experience

Expand your students' experience with hands-on learning

Expand your students' horizons and give them hands-on experience in UW-Stout's state-of-the-art cadaver lab. Groups of up to 24 students will spend 75 minutes exploring the heart; central, nervous, digestive, and musculoskeletal systems; and full body. Layers of skin, muscles, veins, and organs will all be visible, and some organs will be passed around the group to allow for close-up investigation. In addition to these lab experiences, groups will have the opportunity to tour UW-Stout's campus, meet with admissions, and eat lunch in the Price Commons dining hall. By combining up-close lab work with on-campus experiences, this program goes far beyond teaching students practical skills. It shows them that they are capable of working in a college environment and offers a chance to explore campus with a group they already know.

This experience is recommended for AP Biology and Anatomy classes. One chaperone for every 10 students is required.

Your Instructor: Dr. Alex Hall

A photo of Dr. HallDr. Hall worked as a family physician for 20 years and has been lecturing for our Biology department for over a decade, teaching such courses as Anatomy & Physiology, Human Sexual Biology, Community and Public Health, Physiology of Disabilities, and Cadaver Dissection.  She loves to share her knowledge of the human body with students and community members and is known for her engaging and accessible style.  She can also be found lending her talents to the Wisconsin Science Olympiad and Those Nerdy Girls, a science-based social media team.
